Shortly after Ocean County Democratic Freeholder Candidate Teddy Price broke party ranks and endorsed Republican Bob Hugin for Senate, an angry Senator Vin Gopal Penned a letter to Ocean County Democratic Chairman Wyatt Earp. The letter revealed that the senator would be donating $10,000 dollars to Ocean County this year, but he didn’t want any of the money to make it’s way into the Price for Freeholder campaign.
In response to the Gopal letter, Democrat Teddy Price went on the record about the flow of money and said, “everyone on the inside knows it’ll be funneled to Jackson, where Mitch Seim and his friends are looking to take out Michael Reina.”
Mitch Seim is a former Lakewood Democratic Committeemen and political operative that works on races with former Lakewood Mayor Marta Harrison. Working together with Gopal, Mr. Seim has been responsible for much of the blue wave that occurred in Monmouth County. Seim is behind the campaign of Jackson Democratic Mayoral challenger Tracie Yostpille, a women’s rights activist and union organizer.
A few months prior to writing his letter to Earp, Senator Gopal attended the 2018 legislative breakfast for Agudath Israel of America, an orthodox advocacy group that recently sued the township of Jackson over it’s ban on eruv’s in the public “right of way.”
A newly elected first term State Senator, Mr. Gopal rose to stardom when he joined with Governor Murphy to lash out at 101.5’s Dennis and Judy over their, “Turban Man” comments back in July.
Mr. Gopal’s district does not fall anywhere near Jackson, so many are questioning what his interests are there.
